A group is a secure environment for a lab, research group or department in an academic institute or company where members can work jointly on projects, track the lab's inventory, share procedures and SOPs and exchange data. As a group member, individual users have roles and permissions to determine what data and application features they access within the lab group. Users can be members of multiple labs and may be assigned a unique user role with different permissions for each group. When a user is a member of multiple groups, their active group setting will determine the lab space in which they are currently working.
