If a user has forgotten their password, please click the Forgot password? link in the lower-right corner of the login menu.
Next, enter the email address registered to the account. This should always be the users organisation email address. Click Send Link to receive an email to reset the password.
Click the link in the email to confirm the password reset request. Users will receive a second email with the new password. Once they have successfully logged in with the new credentials, they can change their password in the account settings.
Troubleshooting
The user may not have received an email for one of the following reasons:
- The email ended up in their spam folder.
- The user did not enter the correct email address. Please make sure to use an institute or company e-mail address.
- The user's account is not properly activated. Check the mailbox for an email to confirm account registration.
- The account is linked with an organisation-specific login (LDAP/SSO/AD) and passwords are thus not stored in eLabJournal.
If a user still cannot log into their account after checking these steps, please submit a password reset request to the eLabNext support team.
