A users password can be changed within the Account Settings under My Account.
Note: if a users organisation uses single-sign-on (LDAP/AD/SSO) for user authentication, their password cannot be reset within eLabJournal because we do not store user credentials within the application. The user must instead contact their local administrator for assistance with resetting their password.
Select the Password tab in the Account Settings and enter the following information:
- Old password – the current password used to log into eLabJournal
- New password – the new password that the user wants to use to login
- Verify new password – retype the new password
Click Change Password to complete the process. The new password will be active when the user next logs in.
Note: the chosen password must comprise at least 5 characters and that the most commonly-used passwords are not accepted.
In addition to changing a users password, they can further improve the security of their account by enabling 2-step verification.
