In the Experiment Browser, experiments can be viewed in the navigation tree. To see an overview of all the experiments the user has created, navigate to the Experiment List. If the Collaborators filter is set to a specific group member, users can see all that user's experiments when the user is also assigned as a collaborator.
Additionally, users can filter experiments by Projects, Studies, Status, and Due Date or use the search bar to return results by keyword.
Admin Mode
Users with the "view all experiments" permission can activate Admin Mode in the Experiment List page. When toggled, Admin Mode displays all experiments created within the currently active ELN group, regardless of whether the user is listed as a collaborator.
Note: Admin Mode also applies to the Experiment Browser page when activated
Admin Mode and Project Groups (Cross-Group Collaboration)
Visibility is strictly tied to the specific ELN group where the experiment was originally created. Because experiment IDs are linked exclusively to their group of origin, Admin Mode behaves as follows during cross-group collaboration:
- Scenario 1 (External Creation): If Group B creates a Project Group and its underlying experiments, those entries belong to Group B. If users are in Group A, turning on Admin Mode will not display or allow them to search for those experiments, even if Group A is collaborating on the project.
- Scenario 2 (Internal Creation, External Link): If an experiment is created within Group A but linked to a Project Group owned by Group B, it will be visible via Admin Mode in Group A, but it will not appear in Group B's Admin Mode.
Finding External Experiments
If users need to view or search for external journal entries belonging to an external project group where they are a collaborator, Admin Mode will not pull them up. Instead, they must use this method:
Navigate to the Experiment Browser, then change the user filter to "All Users".
This will display external content to which users have been explicitly assigned as a collaborator, bypassing the strict group-origin limitations of the Admin Mode list.
