The update will apply automatically to eLabNext for our Shared-Cloud on March 17th, 2026. For customers with Private Cloud or On-Premises installations, the update is scheduled for the 2026 Q2 release.
The Sample Parent add-on extends the functionality to track a sample's parents or source. When editing a sample, users have the option to link or unlink multiple parent relationships. The Sample Parent add-on can be installed from the Marketplace.
Marketplace Add-on installationeLabNext offers a wide range of add-ons and integrations to enhance the functionality of your digital lab platform. The categories include biobanking, utilities, productivity, and reporting. The eLab Marketplace is conveniently available within the eLabNext platform, making it easy to find, install, and start using add-ons immediately. To install an add-on, navigate to the Marketplace tab and choose "Install" for the add-on you'd like to add. Depending on the add-on or your organization-wide settings, some add-ons might already be installed for you by default. |
To add parents to an existing sample, navigate to the Sample Overview page for the desired sample and click the Set parent button.
In the pop-up, select Set Parent
Users can search for samples using the search bar or navigate to different storage locations using the navigation tree on the left-hand side. Users can select multiple samples to designate as parents, then click the Select sample button.
The parent samples will now appear on the Sample Overview page.
Users can also update multiple samples at once. From the Sample List or Inventory Browser, select multiple samples using the tick boxes, click the Set Parent button. Then follow the same process as for a single sample.
